Create a Crown

Help the baker create a delightful afternoon snack! Follow the directions to make a delicacy to devour. Directions can be given with one, two or three steps at a time depending on the age of the child making the brownies.

Purchase a store brand brownie mix.

Add three eggs to the mix for cake like brownies.

Stir brownie mix, water, oil and eggs in a medium bowl until well-blended. Grease (or use cooking spray) in bottom of pan. Spread in a pan. Bake in an 8” by 8” dish.

Bake at 325 degrees for a glass dish or metal pan for 52-54 minutes.

When cool, cut into four equal parts to make four squares.

Use a 1 ½” metal spatula or a knife to cut two small V’s in the top of the brownies to create points for the crown.

Remove triangle brownie pieces.

Purchase canned white frosting (icing) or make your own from scratch.

Place some icing in a bowl.

Add a few drops of yellow food coloring to the white icing. This makes the icing golden for the crown.

With adult help, frost the top of the crown. Leave 1” inch from the bottom for a new color.

To create the rim of the crown you must mix a new color. Pink icing - add red food coloring to some white icing. Purple icing - add red and blue food coloring to white icing.

With adult help frost the bottom section of the crown.

Decorate the points of the crown with jellybeans, m&m’s or any candy of your choice.

ENJOY!
